Terms of Service
These terms apply when you use Amitié: our membership, the AI concierge on WhatsApp and the website, and member events. They are an agreement between you and AMITIE TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED, a company registered in the United Kingdom (“Amitié”, “we”, “us”). By using Amitié you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
Membership
- You must be 18 or over and give accurate information about yourself.
- Your WhatsApp number is your account. Keep your phone secure: anyone who can send messages from your number can use your account.
- Membership is by invitation or approval, and we may decline or end a membership at our discretion, for example if these terms are broken.
Early access
Amitié is in an early release. Features may change, be paused or be withdrawn, and the service may sometimes be unavailable.
The concierge
- The concierge uses AI to research, suggest, draft and remind. It can make mistakes, and information from venues and websites can be out of date. Check important details such as dates, prices, availability and addresses before relying on them.
- Unless we expressly confirm a booking, the concierge does not book or pay on your behalf. It finds options and prepares messages that you choose to send.
- Anything that acts in your name, such as sending an email from a connected Google account, adding a calendar event, or sending invitations to other members, happens only after you confirm it.
- Do not use the concierge for medical, legal, financial or emergency advice. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.
Third-party providers
Restaurants, venues, hotels, suppliers and other businesses you deal with are independent of Amitié. Any booking or purchase is a contract between you and that business, on its terms, and that business is responsible for what it provides.
Member events
- Members may host events. Hosts are responsible for their events: the venue, costs, suppliers, safety and compliance with local laws and licences.
- Event listings are checked automatically before they appear, and we may edit, decline or remove any event.
- Invitations go only to members who have opted in. Do not use Amitié to send unwanted or commercial messages.
Acceptable use
You must not use Amitié to break the law; harass, deceive or harm anyone; send spam; share content that is unlawful, hateful or sexually explicit; impersonate others; try to get around our security, rate limits or safeguards; or access other members’ information. We may limit, suspend or end access to protect members and the service.
Connected accounts
If you connect a Google account, you allow Amitié to use it only as described in our Privacy Policy. You can disconnect at any time. Your use of Google services remains subject to Google’s terms.
Fees
Amitié does not currently charge for access during this early release. If we introduce fees, we will tell you in advance, and you will not be charged unless you agree.
Intellectual property
The Amitié name, brand and service belong to us. You keep ownership of what you send us, and you allow us to use it to provide and improve the service as described in our Privacy Policy.
Liability
We provide Amitié with reasonable care and skill. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party businesses, for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.
Ending your membership
You can stop using Amitié at any time and ask us to close your account by emailing [email protected].
Changes
We may update these terms as Amitié develops. We will change the date above and tell you about significant changes before they take effect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK, or in another country, you keep any protections your local consumer law gives you and may bring proceedings where you live.
